Passover 2017: “The Nature of Things”

This Passover we are inviting visitors to enjoy the beuty of nature in spring in the center of Jerusalem. The Garden’s design allows visitors to experience views from around the world in the most beautiful time of year. They can enjoy guided tours on spring flowers, man and nature and the fascinating structures of plants. At the end of every tour – a fun family workshop. An additional workshop area will operate on the main lawn and of course the Children’s discovery trail is open for your enjoyment to experience and explore water, earth & soil, treetops and roots and their relation to the plants growing in the gardens.  

Tours:

“Man and Nature” – Ethno-botanical tour in the Southern Africa Section. Learn about the different uses of plants in every-day life in African cultures and at the end of the tour learn how to build with mud and enjoy the challenge of the grass maze.

Tour Times: 10:30 | 12:00 | 13:30 | 15:00 (on Friday 14.4 and Sunday 16.4 last tour at 13:30)

“The Fascinating Shape of Plants” – Get to know plants from inside. How do plants ‘drink’ water, why are they green? what is the importance of sunlight to plants? how do roots work? all this and more in an in-depth tour into the plants. At the end of the tour we will teach you how to make your own cuttings to plant and take home.

Tour Times: 11:00 | 12:30 | 14:00 | 15:30 (on Friday 14.4 and Sunday 16.4 last tour at 14:00)  

“Spring Flowers” in the Mediterranean Section. Take a walk through the colors and smells of the most beautiful time of year. We will see the spring blooms, get to know the structure of flowers and understand the significant relationship between flowers and insects. Finally, we will make greeting cards ornamented by leaves.

Workshop area on the main lawn – make incense, wooden coasters, get creative with materials from nature or on our giant grafitti wall or look for gold on the Children’s Discovery Trail
