Weekend Riddle:

This week our riddle comes from distant Madagascar, where our Scientific Director, Dr. Ori Fragman-Sapir is hiking.
in the pictures you can see:
Elephant’s Foot Plant (Pachypodium rosulatum) on the right
and Grandidier’s Baobab (Adansonia grandidieri) on the left.
apart from the fact that both of them grow only in the island of Madagascar, what do these two plants have in common?

Riddle’s Solution:

Both the Elephant-foot and the Baobab have a massive thick trunk. they are adapted to a short rainy season in the summer, and quick water absorption so they can survive 10 dry months each year using their internal water supply.

The weekend riddle is published in Facebook every Friday noon, the solution is published in Facebook on the following Sunday, together with the publication on this site.
