The Garden Club Volunteer Program at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens
Learn about practical gardening, urban nature and the environment at Thursday morning meetings.
Join one of the many volunteer options across the city,and help turn Jerusalem “green”.
The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens volunteer community welcomes English Speakers and invites you to take part. The program offers training and volunteer work in gardening, botany, sustainability.

Examples from last year below
Group volunteer work
There are two special needs programs in the JBG. The option is to work on Tuesdays.
Reut: Einav leads this horticultural therapy group for mental illness in the Hub Greenhouse, growing plants for sale.
Kishurim: Ronen leads this group of Autistic adults gardening together.
Work together with Aylon the Hub Gardener working in the “Hub” garden plot and nursery and growing specialist plants for sale to help support the Botanical Gardens.
Help plant and maintain sustainable gardens in kinder gardens throughout the city. Teach children how to grow their own food and plants.
Nir runs this program, where you can find a kindergarten to work with, once a fortnight, near your home.

Individual Volunteering in the Botanical Garden
This track is especially for people who are looking for hard physical work tending a particular section in the garden. Working with Eli, the Head Gardener this requires you to be steadfast and independent.
The seed bank is run by dedicated Hebrew speaking volunteers collecting, sorting and indexing the gardens seeds. Lily is in charge of this collection.
Help in the gardens gift shop. You need knowledge of the Botanical Gardens and plants. Spoken Hebrew always useful! Yehiel manages this option.
Under the management of Dr Ori Fragman- Sapir the Scientific director, this work is cataloging and labeling the gardens plants collections.

Gardening in the specialist Rose Garden collection with Dallit. Become part of the team at one of Jerusalems important landmarks.
Harvest vegetables in the hydroponic greenhouse in this community project.
